What's the Story?

In LEAPFROG: NUMBERLAND Scout, Violet, Penny, and Eli want to help their friend Mr. Rabbit organize his vegetable garden after a pesky gopher digs everything up. The only problem is, they don't know how to count numbers in order. This calls for a trip to Numberland! Scout magical car takes them on a trip, and they meet Max and the numbers 1 through 10. As they interact with the numbers, they learn about counting objects, number recognition, counting forward and backward, and which numbers are higher versus lower. Scout and his friends have fun while learning and singing, and end up helping to throw a birthday party before heading back home to fix the garden.

Our review:

This 32-minute show highlights important learning skills that LeapFrog classically includes in games and products. Leapfrog: Numberland is a perfect opportunity for children to learn about numbers, while also reinforcing helpful skills like making new friends and sharing. The show's inclusion of singing is fun, and helps children learn the concepts faster. Characters pause and invite viewers to practice what they've learned multiple times throughout the show. All the learning concepts are developmentally appropriate, and the brightly colored animation draws viewers into the show.
