What's the Story?
LEGENDS follows the true events of amateur customs workers infiltrating the drug trade in 1990s England. When two young people overdose on heroin, Don (Steve Coogan) is tasked with creating an anti-drug task force. He forms a team of employees—Guy (Tom Burke), Kate (Hayley Squires), Bailey (Aml Ameen), and Erin (Jasmine Blackborow)—dissatisfied with their day jobs and ready to prove themselves. They adapt to their "legends," alternate personas that they use to go undercover. While Kate and Bailey work on infiltrating Liverpool, Guy is sent on his own to infiltrate the Turkish drug trade. As they try to navigate a deadly field with few resources, they must take care not to lose themselves to their own legends. Once a legend takes over, can you come back?
Is It Any Good?
This gritty, thrilling series has complicated cons and haunted heroes. In Legends, Coogan and Burke give their characters humanity and vulnerability, despite their dark pasts and dangerous jobs. Squires, Ameen, and Blackborow round out a team that is not just fearless fighters, but also fearful, everyday people doing a difficult job. The violence, explicit drug use, strong language, and sexual content make this suitable for older teens.
