What's the Story?

In LEGO STAR WARS: REBULD THE GALAXY, Sig (Gaten Matarrazo, Stranger Things) is a history buff who enjoys his ordinary life. His brother, Dev (Tony Revolori), however, wants more adventure and pushes Sig to try new things. When they discover a forgotten Jedi temple, Dev challenges Sig to take hold of an ancient Jedi artifact, leading to a magical shift of the world around them: The pieces that make up reality are shifted and rebuilt in a completely new way, past and present forever altered. Sig finds his brother turned into a Sith Lord, and many of his heroes have given up the Force. He must now find a way to become the hero of the story and restore things to how they were.

Is It Any Good?

Our review:

This fun show resets the franchise in a way that is pleasurably surprising. Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy has many of the same ingredients of the Lego animated series: silly comedy, edgy jokes, characters who fluctuate between mean and frustrated, and many fight scenes. At its heart, however, is a relatable tale about the fear of change, finding one's strength, and standing by those we love. The show features surprisingly deep lessons but still targets the same audience. If your kid was interested in the previous Lego Star Wars content, this series will not disappoint.

Talk to Your Kids About ...

  • Families can talk about creativity in Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy. The show introduces a group of Jedi called "Force Builders," dedicated to creation. Ask your child how creativity can help us overcome difficult situations and have them point out an example from the show.

  • The entire show is built with Lego pieces and characters from the Star Wars franchise. Consider together if these stories might also be a way to showcase products. Why do you think Lego creates shows like these?

  • The alternative reality in the show seems daunting, but Sig believes he can rebuild it and is confident that there's good in everyone. Have you ever seen a good person do bad things? What made them act that way? Did they turn things around, and how did that happen?
