Spooky special is overstuffed but fun; some violence.

What's the Story?
In Lego Star Wars Terrifying Tales, pilot Poe Dameron (voiced by Jake Green) and his round robot pal BB-8 crash land on the planet of Mustafar, where Jabba's cousin, Grabella the Hutt, is building a luxury resort called Castle Vader and filling it with Sith artifacts. Also on the scene is Valee (Tony Hale, The Mysterious Benedict Society), who's concocting some evil plans, but he's also got some scary stories to share with Poe. In the first tale, "The Lost Boy," a frustrated Kylo Ren, aka Ben Kenobi, is being trained by his uncle, Luke Skywalker, when the Knights of Ren (Christian Slater) show up to wreak havoc. The second tale, "The Dueling Monstrosities," is all about the rebirths of General Grievous and Darth Maul at the hands of some powerful witches. "The Wookiee's Paw" takes viewers way back to teen Luke's life on Tattooine, where he has some choices to make. Meanwhile, on Mustafar, talented kid mechanic Dean finds himself tempted by the Dark Side. Will he be swayed by Vanee or stick with new friend Poe?
Is It Any Good?
There's a lot going on in this spooky special, so if you're not up on your Star Wars canon up until the last film, prepare for a little chaos. That said, it's a lot of fun for fans who enjoy seeing their favorite characters from all the Star Wars iterations get a little creepy. Hale successfully hams it up as Imperial underling and storyteller Vanee, and Grabella the Hutt as a Vegas-type real estate mogul is a weirdly hilarious turn.
Over-serious character Kylo Ren is made a bit of a caricature in his tale, complete with an '80s-style montage (including sax solo) where he turns evil and joins the Knights. It's generally enjoyable, but the frequent tone shifts are a lot to manage; they might have been better off telling one terrifying tale instead of three. While it's no holiday classic, Terrifying Tales beats the Star Wars Holiday Special any day.
