In a sea of preschool dino shows, this one stands out by focusing less on its prehistoric setting and more on what the characters share with their modern audience. L'il Stompers features dino kids who are just like human toddlers: curious, friendly, and always up for adventure. The voice acting adds to that element of relatability, sounding like viewers are talking to their real friends. The short stories cater to kids' short attention spans, and the repetition of sets and characters builds familiarity to keep them coming back from more. While the show could be more intentional in its lessons, it remains an entertaining piece that focuses on kindness leading to being their best selves -- what else do kids really need?

Talk to Your Kids About ...

  • Families can talk about characters' actions that demonstrate L'il Stompers' value of inclusivity. How did the characters show respect for differences, and what did they do to make others feel welcome?

  • When the dinos play together, sometimes they find that different skills make some activities easier for one but harder for others. What do they do when this happens? Do you ever face similar situations in your day-to-day?

  • The animation on the show uses lots of different textures and materials. Start a conversation about how everyday objects can be transformed into magical worlds, just like in the show.
