What's the Story?

Luciana "LUCKY" Armstrong (Anya Taylor-Joy) has just pulled off a heist with her husband that will help them retire comfortably and early, even if they must flee the country. But when she wakes up in Vegas, he and the money are missing, and their pictures are all over the news. Lucky's wits get tested as she runs from her crime boss mother-in-law (Annette Bening) and the FBI (Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor), all while being monitored by her imprisoned dad (Timothy Olyphant). But the further she runs, the closer the past catches up to her.

This series hides its hands early on but raises the stakes throughout each episode. Lucky is fast paced, action packed, and thrilling. Each character seems to be withholding a goldmine of intriguing backstories, but the narrative occasionally falls flat even as they're revealed. The violence and cursing makes this suitable for older teens.
