Made in a Day
Parent and Kid Reviews
What's the Story?
In MADE IN A DAY, viewers get to see how quickly and efficiently "brands we love" are manufactured. From the stamping out of aluminum and steel parts for a Tesla, to the origins of the most popular hot sauce on the planet, Tabasco, this show takes a peek at the stories behind the making of these brands.
Is It Any Good?
Numbers are thrown about in Made in a Day that boggle the mind: Billions of dollars in whiskey consumption yearly, hundreds of millions of cars on the road. Not many facts are provided to illustrate the impact of this manufacturing muscle on the environment, or about the labor force behind it all. Moreover the innovators and leaders in this show are White men, while the people working in the factories are largely people of color.
Though the technology that allows production of the scale explored in this series is pretty cool, a large piece of the puzzle has been left out. This show is best suited for kids who like to see how things are made, but parents should be aware that episodes can feel like extended advertisements.
