What's the Story?

MAID SAMA! is an anime based off the manga titled Kaichou wa Maid-Sama! by Hiro Fujiwara. The story follows Misaki Ayuzawa (voiced by Monica Rial), a high school student who is the first female student council president at Seika High School and known for her strictness for rules and behaving properly. She has a secret—she works part-time at a maid cafe called Maid Latte. When her secret is discovered by her annoying classmate Takumi Usui (voiced by David Matranga), she panics. But Takumi turns out to be much more caring than she expects, and their relationship evolves as she navigates her double life.

Our review:

Kids say : Not yet rated

This anime is a typical slice-of-life show that highlights high school emotions and situations. Maid Sama! has some adult content, such as mentioning sexually suggestive materials, but overall is geared for a teen audience. Misaki and Takumi's relationship seems typical of this kind of anime—high-strung girl meets laid-back "annoying" boy who gets her to relax, have fun, and fall for him. It's a low-stakes watch, where the viewer doesn't find themselves confused or overwhelmed with the storylines or the plot. The story, though simple, is entertaining and the viewer finds themselves rooting for Misaki and Takumi's relationship to evolve.
