What's the Story?

MAN ON FIRE follows John Creasy (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) four years after a tragic mission wiped out his entire team. When he tries and fails to take his own life, John ends up in Brazil with a job prospect organized by his only friend. Suddenly, his friend is killed in a terrorist bombing, leaving his friend's daughter Poe (Billie Boullet) as the lone survivor. John's plan for vengeance is complicated when Poe is targeted as a key witness to the attacks. With the help of Melo (Alice Braga), John must avenge his friend, protect Poe, and navigate the corruption and chaos in Brazil's underbelly.

This series brings real emotion to the explosions typical in the genre. Man on Fire is a rare action show that balances thrills with strong character dynamics. Abdul-Mateen's portrayal of Creasy is captivatingly troubled, and Boullet's performance is promising. The violence, language, drinking, and drug use make this suitable for older teens.
