This series is a weird mix of sports and intergalactic battles, plus a handful of retro stars including Jim Belushi, Brad Garrett and Ian Ziering. Everything about Mighty Ducks: The Animated Adventure – the storylines, animation, jokes and headbanger theme song – feels old school. Stereotypes and dated references run rampant. It's a show that will appeal to young sci-fi fans for its constant action, hero vs. villain struggles, and never-ending cliffhangers. While not nearly as clever as many current action-adventure shows made for kids, it's also largely harmless and maybe even a little progressive for its time, with a superhero team that includes two female members who are treated as equals.
