What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Mighty Express: Mighty Trains Race is a special from the popular Netflix series, Mighty Express. The show is exciting for a young audience, as it is colorful, and fun voice actors engage viewers. There's lots of movement, which could be overstimulating for toddlers or sensitive viewers. Additionally, the action and suspense could be mildly overwhelming – for example, the racetrack gets bombarded with boulders, causing one of the train characters to derail and go flying through the air. The show boasts a diverse cast, with characters of varying ethnicities, and characters who wear glasses and have freckles. Girls are portrayed in nontraditional roles, working on trains or running the farm.

Is It Any Good?
This bright, exciting special from its popular predecessor is just what the preschool crowd ordered. Mighty Express: Mighty Trains Race packs a punch with action and suspense, but it's not just a visual viewing experience. It tackles issues of communication and effective listening better than most shows for the youngest viewers. Without being preachy, kids see that bad behavior isn't rewarded. A plus for parents? There are some mild laughs -- like chicken characters changing the channel to their soap opera, Eggs of Our Lives -- and funky music for bopping along while you watch as a family.
