What's the Story?

MINI BEAT POWER ROCKERS depicts everyday life in a daycare center where the babies are energetic, upbeat music lovers—and their babysitter prefers peace and quiet. Each episode is based on some fact or idea related to music. From combining several instruments to acting in the grunge movement, the babies have loads of fun exploring their interests and driving their babysitter bananas, all while learning important life lessons.

With very few words, this show cleverly delivers laughs, celebrates music, and delivers a dose of enemy-to-friends as babies and babysitter gradually learn to appreciate each other. While Mini Beat Power Rockers may not appeal to everyone, it's perfect for young kids who enjoy music, tapping, or fast-paced action. Beneath the slapstick and physical comedy, themes of inclusion and creativity shine through. Without formal lessons, episodes explore the power of music and some of the science behind it, ending with a teachable moment. It's not complex, but it's full of innocent fun for young viewers.

Talk to Your Kids About ...

  • Families can discuss the role of music in Mini Beat Power Rockers. Babies play instruments when they're happy, when they're feeling down, and when they just want to pass the time. Have you ever noticed that your mood changes according to the music? What do you like to play when you're feeling at your best?

  • The babies in the show all have musical abilities, but some of us haven't figured out how to play instruments yet. However, percussion can be found in anything! What are some other ways you can think of to make music?

  • At times, babysitter Dolores gets upset because the babies' music doesn't let her concentrate. Why is it important to respect other people's space, and what does it mean to live in a community?
