What's the Story?

NAKED AND AFRAID: CASTAWAYS features survivalists attempting to make it through 21 days on a deserted Pacific island. The Naked and Afraid spin-off features nine elite survivalists who have been divided into three teams, and then marooned on different parts of the island without clothes, food, tools, weapons, or maps. They must search the island for water, food, and materials that they can repurpose or use creatively in order to survive. By the 21st day, all three teams must arrive at the island's northernmost pointing order to signal a boat traveling through the water's shipping lanes to get them off. It's an extremely difficult challenge, especially when the relationship between teammates become strained. or their mental toughness begins to wane. But they are all determined to prove that they can do it.

This predictable series follows the traditional Naked and Afraid formula, which has people attempting to survive the wild and fellow teammates with a unique twist. As each team forages, hunts, and problem solves, they are also subjected to the elements of a tropical island, which ranges from extreme heat to dangerous predators. Meanwhile, their location in the Pacific creates a logical space in which teams can find partially intact abandoned vehicles, allowing participants to be more innovative as they build fires and create tools and shelter. The series' manufactured CRR (castaway rescue rating) adds a little drama, too. If you find the franchise entertaining, no doubt that Naked and Afraid: Castaways will be worth investing in.
