NCIS Sydney
What's the Story?
In NCIS SYDNEY, Australia has recently decided to open its ports for use by the US Navy. This new collaboration means a team of U.S. NCIS agents and the Australian Federal Police have to learn to work together on any cases involving U.S. Navy sailors on Australian soil.
Is It Any Good?
A surprisingly welcome addition to the growing NCIS franchise, set against the breathtaking backdrop of Sydney, Australia. NCIS Sydney captures everything fans adore about investigative procedurals -- compelling mysteries, charming characters, and the thrill of forensic science -- while skillfully skipping past the common trope of inter-departmental tension and evolving smoothly from undertones of rivalry to teamwork. The clever pairing of a man from one department with a woman from the other at every position, from detective to scientist, also injects a fresh energy into the series, which will be a new favorite amongst fans of forensic police dramadies.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about what types of content are acceptable to your family. Call out the kinds of content that don't work for your family and discuss why they might be problematic.
Teens can still be frightened and can still have bad dreams. Know your child, talk about scary content they may be watching, and help them make reasonable choices.
Consider using scenes of substance use to open up a conversation. At this age, it can often help to start by asking your kids what seems realistic or implausible about what the characters are doing and what (if any) the consequences are.
