What's the Story?
NEYMAR: THE PERFECT CHAOS is a three-part documentary series about the controversial Brazilian football (soccer) phenom, Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior. From interviews with Neymar and his father manager, Neymar Sr., to conversations with former and current teammates, and football icons like David Beckham, Lionel Messi, and Kylian Mbappé. the overall series attempts to tell Neymar's life story from his point of view. Helping chronicle is personal life and athletic career is archive footage of Neymar as a child, scenes from his early career, and footage of Neymar playing for Santos FC in Brazil, FC Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain.
Is It Any Good?
This predictable docuseries, which is subtitled in English, features Neymar telling his life story in an attempt to counter the criticism he's received throughout his professional football career. He, along with his father, discuss what it was like to go from growing up in a São Paulo favela to becoming one of the world's best footballers. While Neymar's talent for the sport is highlighted, much of the discussion centers on the player's flamboyant style, as well as his attitude on and off the pitch, which is sometimes characterized as diva-esque and unsportsmanlike by other managers, players, and media pundits.
Many acknowledge that his behavior (much like this series) is designed to continue building up his successful and lucrative brand, but Neymar and his supporters also argue that his success makes him an easy target for critics, who they argue unfairly judge him. If you're not a football fan, chances are that you won't care either way. For those who are, Neymar: The Perfect Chaos will be of great interest.
