What's the Story?

NO WAY OUT: THE ROULETTE starts with Baek Joongsik (Cho Jin-woong), a lieutenant detective who is out of money. In massive debt, he may lose his house, his daughter's chance at a future, and his wife. In mid-pursuit of a suspect, Joongsik finds a suitcase with a strange symbol on top of full of money inside. When the suspect dies, Joongsik decides to take the suitcase for himself and uses the money towards his debts. Afterwards, a video suddenly goes live, where a masked man with the same symbol from the suitcase proposes a challenge to the public: kill a recently released murderer for 20 billion won.

Is It Any Good?

This series explores the levels of depravity people will cross for their debts. No Way Out: The Roulette adds ironic and interesting elements to an otherwise standard action-thriller show in the "murder competition" genre. The characters, gruesome scenes, and off-beat dark comedy make this an intriguing watch. The language, violence, and drug and alcohol use make this suitable for older teens.
