This Mexican production stars Mexican actors and filmed in Spanish. It contains some undertones of sexism and bigotry. Men off-handedly remark on women's bodies while talking to them. People make fun of others by saying things like, "She's a little wacko. She just escaped from the looney bin." Later a character is described as "not right in the head." A married woman is also blackmailed with evidence of her secret lesbian affair.

Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Pact of Silence is a revenge thriller with mature themes and upsetting storylines. Throughout the series, viewers should expect to encounter guns, physical assault, rape of a child by an adult, stalking, kidnapping, suicide, and murder. Characters steal, lie, and threaten each other. Instances of verbal, emotional, and physical abuse involving children are also present, as is profanity, including "f--k."
Is It Any Good?
A swift-paced revenge narrative adorned with extravagant fashion and picturesque Mexican landscapes. Where Pact of Silence falls short is in character development: The protagonist's relentless quest to find the mother who abandoned her is the only thing that defines her, and her four suspects are similarly one-dimensional. Though the series leans heavily into melodrama over storytelling, it still manages to keep viewers engaged in its central mystery. If you're in the mood for an intriguing drama with lots of eye candy, Pact of Silence may be worth a watch. But be warned, the scenes of child abuse and rape are difficult to watch and jarring in what could otherwise be considered a guilty pleasure.
