What's the Story?

In PROVIDENCE FALLS, Cora (Katie Stevens, Haunt) has earned the position of detective in her hometown police force. Her father paved the way for her within the department, but she's determined to show that she deserves her position. When she's paired with a handsome Irish cop named Liam (Lachlan Quarmby), who seems vaguely familiar to her, she's thrust into circumstances that he seems to have an understanding of—but an understanding that eludes her. Who is this dark horse? Has she met him in another time and place?

Though it tries to fit in a chunky subplot that features otherworldly string-pulling, this mild romance's snappy dialogue keeps the plot rolling. Providence Falls relies on quick starts and clunky side plots, so there's a lot going on in every scene. Fans of romance with time travel, a sense of fate, or providence (wink wink), will be able to watch this show with younger teens. Steamy glances and some kissing between good-looking lead characters will have romance-loving tweens hooked.
