Raid the Cage
What's the Story?
RAID THE CAGE is a game show in which contestants try to correctly answer trivia questions to earn time in a cage filled with luxury items including jewelry, designer bags, dream vacations, etc. The teams of two only get to keep what they can carry out of the cage before time runs out. The absence of any clocks makes this a difficult task, and the winning team has to have grabbed the highest value of things at the end of three rounds. Then it's on to the bonus round and the biggest prize haul of the night, including a Mini Cooper.
Is It Any Good?
A refreshing take on the game show format that will engage viewers of all ages. Raid the Cage's unique structure will prompt lively debates among the audience, from strategic decisions on who should answer questions and who should grab prizes to the most efficient approach for tackling "the cage." While the format is captivating, it could be further enhanced by revealing the value of each item contestants collect instead of just their total worth. The charismatic hosts, Jeannie Mai and Damon Wayans Jr. (Happy Endings), add to the show's appeal. Raid the Cage stands out for its commendable commitment to diversity, both in its host and contestants. The consumerism theme might not be ideal for children but the show's format does provide an opportunity for discussions about the consequences of excessive greed.
