What's the Story?
The RED BULL SOAPBOX RACE is a global amateur racing series where teams build wildly creative, gravity-powered race cars to compete in a judged downhill event. Hosted by racing legend Dale Earnhardt Jr. and motorsports commentator Mike Bagley. Teams are scored on both speed and creativity, with no two soapboxes—or races—ever quite the same.
Is It Any Good?
The show is lighthearted and high-energy, with a good mix of outrageous designs, real crashes, and expert commentary. Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s dry wit and Southern charm play well off Mike Bagley's high-octane delivery. The creativity of the cars and the enthusiasm of the teams in Red Bull Soap Box Race make it a fun watch, even if the format can feel a bit repetitive over multiple episodes.
