What's the Story?
In REMINDER, fashion magazine editor Güneş (Hande Erçel) and architectural developer Deniz (Baris Arduç) cross paths six months after a painful breakup. Their unexpected reunion takes a strange turn when both receive a mysterious phone message that forces them to reconnect. As they work together professionally, flashbacks reveal the highs and lows of their past romance—passion, jealousy, and betrayals that remain unresolved. While Güneş is now in another relationship, the lingering bond with Deniz threatens to unravel her present as the two navigate whether their story is truly over—or if fate has drawn them back together.
Is It Any Good?
This glossy romantic dramedy's high production value shines through every frame. The two leads live aspirational lives—she's a fashion editor, he's an architect—and Reminder leans into that sleekness, making it visually pleasing even when the story itself falters. It's refreshing to see the genre unfold in a Turkish context, and the series makes full use of its gorgeous settings: sweeping cityscapes, seaside vistas, and a breathtaking sequence of wild horses galloping across the plains create an atmosphere as cinematic as it is romantic.
What keeps Reminder afloat is the undeniable chemistry brought out by Erçel and Arduç, whose steamy dynamic gives the otherwise predictable story its spark. The plot hits every familiar beat—breakups, misunderstandings, fate pushing two people back together—without reinventing anything, but the intensity of their attraction makes it hard to look away. Beyond that, the show can feel lightweight and even forgettable. It works as pleasant background viewing, or as a scenic indulgence in longing and desire.
