Parents' Guide to Robocar POLI Safety Series

Parents need to know that Robocar POLI: Safety Series is a safety-focused spin-off of the Robocar POLI series. While the show is aimed at preschoolers, much of the content is likely to be distressing to the intended audience. Kid characters are very nearly hit by cars, and are inside burning buildings. The safety messages are unlikely to be absorbed by young kids. Characters do the unsafe activity first, before they learn what to do instead. Preschoolers are likely to focus on and remember the negative example only. The safety rules are presented in very adult-focused language, making it even less likely preschoolers will understand them. Also, several of the kid characters misbehave or are mean without consequence, and some of the adult characters are dismissive or unkind to kids. Kids who are into firefighters, police officers, and other community helpers will be better served by preschooler-appropriate shows like PAW Patrol. Shows like Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood are great for teaching safety rules at a preschooler's level.
