Parent and Kid Reviews
What's the Story?
Fatou is an excitable girl who lives on a tropical island with her friend ROGER, an alien whose ship crashed on her planet and who has taken over her whole world! It's true that Fatou has many friends in the wilderness: birds, monkeys, and pigs. But none of them is like Roger. These two best friends do everything together, including getting in and out of a lot of trouble.
Is It Any Good?
This series might be nice for kids who enjoy slapstick but are ready for a bit more plot. Roger is part comedy and part adventure, and in many ways over-the-top and extravagant. It doesn't include the type of lessons one might expect for kids this age, but it's not harmful either. It's a true background show, if there ever was one.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about the comedy in Roger. Many of the funny moments in the show stem from characters getting into trouble or making mistakes. Are these types of situations funny in real life or only when you're watching through the screen?
Fatou and Roger are best friends. What qualities do you look for in a friend?
We don't fully see Fatou's dad because the camera stays low. Why do you think that is?
