What's the Story?
SAMPLED is reality series that follows musicians exploring a city in which they are scheduled to perform. Cameras follow singers like British R&B singer Arlo Park, rapper Goldlink, and EDM performer NGHTMRE as they're each shown around a major metropolis like Tokyo, Berlin, and Monterrey by a local artists. They try new foods, drinks, and visit some local hotspots. Throughout it all they learn more about the city's music scene, and talk to a range of different creatives.
Is It Any Good?
The fun music-themed travel show shifts the focus from touring to tourists as musicians get the chance to learn more about the places they perform and the culture of the people they're performing for. Locals introduce each musician to a city's local haunts instead of well-known or popular areas, and their hosts highlight what makes them special. However, some of them also get to meet top chefs and mixologists, and are treated to top-notch foods and drinks that most locals don't get a chance to enjoy. Nonetheless, their experiences still shed light on some the things that make these cities interesting. Overall, Sample is a lighthearted opportunity to watch hard-working musicians enjoy some insightful downtime.
