What's the Story?

SAND LAND: THE SERIES takes place in a drought-ridden kingdom that's home to humans and demons. When former military general Rao (voiced by Jon Lipow) hears that a demon gave water to a human child, he seeks out the demon prince Beelzebub (voiced by Risa Mei) to form an unlikely alliance. Together, they go on an adventure to find a new water supply and end the king's oppressive reign.

Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say : Not yet rated
Kids say ( 1 ):

This upbeat sci-fi adventure satisfies and amuses with its depth and humor. Sand Land: The Series has lovable characters who are good role models for doing the right thing, even if it's hard. Fans of shonen anime like Dragon Ball Z will appreciate Sand Land's silly hijinks and over-the-top battles. They'll also recognize the shonen trope of clearly stated moral lessons. What makes this anime a little different is that it doesn't limit itself to themes of "power in friendship." Instead, it directly tackles complex social and political topics from the very beginning.
