What's the Story?

SELENA + RESTAURANT stars singer, actor, and budding celebrity cook Selena Gomez in a spin-off of Selena + Chef that puts her in the professional kitchen of celebrity chefs' restaurants. Gomez and her best friend Roquelle Stevens visit well-known chefs Wolfgang Puck, Shirley Chung, Michelle Muñoz, and others in their popular restaurants. They explore their signature dishes, test skills, and present an idea for an original dish that Selena will make to potentially appear on the celeb-chef's menu. In every episode, Selena donates $10K to the charity of the chef's choosing and they speak briefly about what the charity is and why it was chosen.

If you're looking for an easy watch with your food-loving family, this is it. Selena Gomez is likable, humble, and a relatable novice in a professional kitchen. Paired up with the support and comic relief of her best friend and the encouraging expertise of the celebrity chefs, it's a recipe for success in every episode.

Talk to Your Kids About ...

  • Families can talk about being a celebrity chef. How do some chefs rise to fame? When viewers can't taste the food, how can you tell if it's good?

  • Why is some food "comfort food"? Do you have comfort foods? If you ran a restaurant, what would your signature dishes be?

  • If you and a friend had a cooking show, how would you want to be encouraged and supported, and how would you encourage and support your friend?
