What's the Story?

SISTAS, a dramatic comedy series written, directed, and executive produced by Tyler Perry, follows a group of thirty-something single Black women in Atlanta navigating friendship, careers, and above all, relationships. Andrea "Andi" Barnes (Kj Smith) is a divorce lawyer with big ambitions, and Daniella "Danni" King (Mignon Von) is an airport employee with no filter. Also part of their crew is Karen Mott (Ebony Obsidian) a sharp and street smart hair salon owner, and the reserved-but stylish bank teller Sabrina Hollins (Novi Brown), who keeps the peace among them. Despite their different personalities, they're bound by a sense of sisterhood and will support each other through thick and thin.

Is It Any Good?

This is one of Tyler Perry's most successful series thanks to the way it blends funny, sitcom-esque moments with soapy drama to create an entertaining viewing experience. Throughout the 6+ seasons on the air, the four Sistas negotiate things ranging from infidelity and paternity questions to serious legal woes. Most of the drama is expected, thanks to their many love interests and dysfunctional relationships. But the storylines associated with folks outside of their sisterhood, including folks like Sabrina's friend Maurice (Brian Jordan, Jr.) and Andi Barnes' assistant, Fatima Wilson (Crystal Hayslett) create some interesting twists. Overall, if you're looking for a bingeable series and happen to be a Tyler Perry fan, this series is a compelling option.
