Parent and Kid Reviews
What's the Story?
In SPY OPS, government spies share their harrowing true stories, providing an intimate look into their experiences combating terrorism and other types of violence around the globe.
Is It Any Good?
This docuseries offers an intriguing peek behind the curtains of government responses to some of history's most momentous occurrences. Kicking off with a bang, the pilot episode of Spy Ops features the then deputy chief of the CIA's hour-by-hour account of September 11, 2001. The series skillfully uses first-hand interviews with key figures who were present, providing viewers with an inside look at how covert spy operations unfolded during these pivotal moments. It also sheds light on lesser-known facts surrounding infamous events, such as Osama Bin Laden's involvement in the killing of the head of Afghanistan's Northern Alliance just days before 9/11. The stories include everything from horseback fighters to the attempted assassination of Pope John Paul II -- told by the man who fired the shot. Though the tales are heavily biased by the people telling them, history buffs will still find them endlessly fascinating.
