What's the Story?
Silly robots Beep, Bing, Bang, Boop, and Bo return with even more zany robot friends in STORYBOTS: ANSWER TIME. Just like 2016's Ask the Storybots, every episode focuses on a theme that many kids are curious about, which could be GPS, sand, or multiplication. The episode begins with a video call from a celebrity guest star with a problem, like Danny DeVito as a pizza maker named Giuseppe. In Giuseppe's episode, the Storybots help figure out how many pizzas he needs to make so he doesn't get eaten by hungry grizzly bears at a birthday party. The Storybots run off to conduct research to figure out the answer and solve the character's problem. Interspersed with the main storyline are video calls from real kids who ask questions ranging from "Why do I have to wear shoes every day?" to "How old is planet Earth?" The robots answer kids' questions through funny animated shorts and music videos. At the end of each episode, the Storybots have saved the day and learned a ton of other fun facts along the way.
Is It Any Good?
This fantastic series checks all the boxes for both kids and grown-ups; it's funny, educational, and just a joy to watch. In Storybots: Answer Time, the robots demonstrate how fun it is to be curious, and the show threads the needle of being a learning show that big kids will legitimately enjoy. Episodes are extremely fast-paced, but many kids will watch them repeatedly and probably learn something new every time. Adults will appreciate the celebrity cameos, the jokes aimed at adults, and learning a thing or two themselves. There are only subtle differences between this series and Ask the Storybots, so fans of the older show will love this 2022 iteration as well.
