What's the Story?

In the futuristic version of Lusaka, Zambia, four friends named Monde, Temwe, Zikomo, and Komana attend Kamiji Secondary School. In their community, Mama K, who appears to be an innocent "logo," or old lady, ostensibly runs a fruit and vegetable stand. But when she invites the girls to come work for her, they discover she's more than meets the eye.

This lively series brings to life an Africanfuturistic world that kids will love. Supa Team 4's adventures are fresh and fun, as well as funny (always a bonus). It's exciting to see this series on Netflix; it gives kids a view of a futuristic Zambia as well as giving voice to some African traditions, language, and cultural touchstones. The animation is gorgeous, showing the textures and bold colors of clothing and the girls' community of Lusaka.
