Surprise and Seek
What's the Story?
In SURPRISE AND SEEK, kid contestants play a game show version of hide-and-seek. One contestant is the seeker, and the other kids have one minute to hide in three themed play areas. Confetti and smoke surprise the kids when they least expect it. The seeker has five minutes to find their friends. The winning seeker gets to dump slime on their friends.
Is It Any Good?
Surprise and Seek is a disappointing game show without a lot of substance. On some level, kids will probably enjoy living vicariously and watching other kids play hide-and-seek. Not much here adds to the experience of playing the game in real life, though -- the sets where the kids hide are lackluster and the "surprises" don't seem to catch the kids off guard. The kid contestants are being fed lines by producers, so they don't seem very much like regular kids. Unlike other silly game shows like Floor Is Lava or Ultimate Tag, there are no incredible physical feats or mental challenges. It's just a game of tag (albeit with some slime at the end). Game show-loving kids can find much better.
