What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Ten Percent, a British adaptation of the French hit Call My Agent!, offers lots of mature plot lines and innuendo, including narratives about infidelity and inappropriate relationships. There's lots of cursing (especially "f--k"), and drinking is frequently visible. Issues like ageism and sexism in the entertainment industry are also referenced.

What's the Story?
TEN PERCENT, a British adaptation of the French TV comedy Call My Agent!, follows the personal and professional lives of the folks working at a family-owned talent agency. Richard Nightingale (Jim Broadbent) heads up Nightingale Hart, and works with his son Jonathan (Jack Davenport). Staff members Julia (Rebecca Humphries), Ollie (Harry Trevaldwyn), and the recently hired Misha Virani (Hiftu Quasem) assist the two men, along with agents Rebecca Fox (Lydia Leonard), Stella Hart (Maggie Steed), and Dan Bala (Prasanna Puwanarajah). Life at the office is never dull, especially when agents try to keep their celebrity clients happy and employed so that the agency can collect the requisite 10 percent of their earnings. Meanwhile, everyone's personal lives lead to some interesting predicaments. But when suddenly faced with tragic circumstances, the staff must figure out how to keep the place going.
Is It Any Good?
Much like its French counterpart, this British version combines humor with poignant moments to create a series with broad appeal. In addition to the eclectic ensemble of lead characters, the appearance of top British actors like Kelly McDonald, Helena Bonham Carter, and Dominic West make Ten Percent a fun watch. But it isn't as sharply written as the original, and those who enjoy Call My Agent! will note some of the cultural differences between the two, especially when it comes to the casting and the humor. Nonetheless, Ten Percent's premise still works, and offers lots of lively and entertaining moments that audiences will appreciate.
