The Ark
What's the Story?
When a mysterious disaster hits THE ARK, a space vessel sent to colonize the planet Proxima B, it wipes out the ship's leadership and food supply. The rest of the crew wakes from the cryogenic coma that was meant to last until touching down on their new home planet, and must immediately pool their knowledge and resources to survive a year's journey in deep space.
Is It Any Good?
Genre-specific melodramas rarely rise to the level of truly great writing or acting, but that's hardly the point. The Ark will never be mistaken for a great show, but it checks a lot of the boxes of good comfort television. For sci-fi fans there's just enough natural disaster and problem solving to keep things interesting. But The Ark is really built for a general audience, focusing on relationships, secrets, twists, and even throwing in a murder mystery like any good soap opera would.
