What's the Story?

In THE ATYPICAL FAMILY, the Bok family meet atop a cliff to discuss their future. They used to be able to do many things-- fly, travel through time and space, dream the future -- but their powers are only a memory. Will they find their gifts again? Or will they learn to be more human without them?

Is It Any Good?

Darkly funny and intriguing, this K-drama takes its time warming to a boil. Just when it seems the slow pace won't merit rewards, The Atypical Family throws a clever twist or an emotional nugget in the mix. Claudia Kim's (Avengers: Age of Ultron) character Bok Dong-hee drops snarky lines, and the depressed Bok Gwi-ju (Jang Ki-Yong) flops about like a drunken fish.

Themes of alcohol abuse and eating disorders are present in this show, so know your teen before diving into this one. Fans of melancholy romance will enjoy this one the most.
