What's the Story?

THE CHALLENGE ARGENTINA: EL DESAFÍO, a spin-off of the popular U.S. The Challenge franchise, features a combination of Argentinian celebs, athletes, and reality stars competing for a cash prize. Hosted by Argentine celeb Marley, it features 18 contestants paired up into teams consisting of one male and one female, competing in daily challenges that determine who goes to the "The Arena" to compete in elimination rounds. They must contend with game twists, including an algorithm that reassigns teams, and opportunities to continue playing after being eliminated. Later episodes require the remaining players to compete individually to remain in the game in order to win 15,000,000 Argentine pesos, or roughly $71,500.

This fun series features all the strategizing and energetic face-offs The Challenge is known for. In addition, the cast stirs up a little drama by talking about their partners, other people's partners, and potential eliminations while living in the group house. Granted, the celebrities' public personas and other nuances will not resonate with viewers unfamiliar with Argentine popular culture. But The Challenge Argentina: El desafío will entertain those who enjoy the franchise.
