What's the Story?

THE DIPLOMAT follows Kate Wyler (Keri Russell), a government official who's unceremoniously put in the position of ambassador to the UK after a bombing in international waters. Kate's husband and former ambassador Hal (Rufus Sewell) is supportive, but is also pulling strings to make her suitable to become the next vice president of the United States.

Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say ( 4 ):
Kids say ( 1 ):

This show can be very entertaining for fans of hardboiled political dramas that also include a touch of humor. The Diplomat has fun performances, keeping it light enough to binge, while including enough political jargon to scratch the itch of fans of shows like The West Wing. Fans of Russell will be especially happy to see her taking charge as a likable, yet no-frills woman who wants to be in control of her career despite her husband pulling strings to make her suitable for higher office, unbeknownst to her. Fans of seeing women in powerful roles in general will love seeing the characters make moves in high office.
