What's the Story?

It's been six months since Hollis Shaw's (Jennifer Garner) husband died, and she's struggling to find herself. Now she's hosting THE FIVE-STAR WEEKEND, where the food influencer invites four friends from different phases of her life to her Nantucket beach house. The guest list includes college friend Dru-Ann (Regina Hall), childhood friend Tatum (Chloë Sevigny), mom friend Brooke (D'Arcy Carden), and Gigi (Gemma Chan), an airline pilot who is also one of Hollis' online followers. As these women help remind Hollis of who she is, a secret threatens to reveal just how full everyone's plates really are.

This series humanizes a wealthy widow's grief retreat with lively characters and Hildebrand's signature dash of beachy mystery. The Five-Star Weekend is compelling, balancing heartwarming themes with flawed characters and dysfunction. The ensemble clash and mesh with each other intriguingly. The language, drinking, and sexual content make this suitable only for older teens.
