What's the Story?

THE LOVE EXPERIMENT features three best friends in a dating utopia hoping to find the man of their dreams. Three Atlanta-based women between the ages of 27 and 30 enter a hall of good-looking, successful, and eligible men who are seeking committed relationships. After some observation through a glass and looking at their photos and profiles, the women select who they want to meet, date, etc. Throughout it all, relationship expert Spicy Mari offers them guidance. It seems like a dream come true, but soon the women realize that having an abundance of wonderful dating options isn't easy to negotiate.

Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say ( 1 ):
Kids say : Not yet rated

The predictable voyeuristic series attempts to bring the experience of using dating apps to find and connect with multiple eligible singles to life. But like most reality dating shows, The Love Experiment's entertainment comes from interactions between the daters, the competitions that form, and the angst that comes with making decisions about who to date and who to let go. Fans of these types of shows will find it worth the watch, but anyone hoping to find something innovative and new will probably be disappointed.

Talk to Your Kids About ...

  • Families can talk about the amount of effort that goes into finding people to have relationships with. How has technology and dating apps made it easier? Harder?

  • Do people really expect to find true love on a reality series? Does the incorporation of a relationship consultant into The Love Experiment make finding a mate more viable? Or is this really just to make the whole process seem credible?
