What's the Story?

In THE MARLOW MURDER CLUB, it's a summer evening and a retired archeologist named Judith Potts (Samantha Bond) is swimming in the river behind her house. She hears gunshots and returns quickly to her home to call the police. Her neighbor has been shot, and since Judith knows a little about digging up evidence, she does a sweep of her own, finding signs of foul play. When the police push her out of the picture, Judith enlists women in the community to help dig deeper. Will they find answers? Or will they get in the way of an official investigation?

A charming mystery with great female leads, this show builds slowly but doesn't lean on shock to create intrigue. The Marlow Murder Club isn't a driving, dark, violent thriller. No, here's a cozy English mystery, full of local characters who have plenty of time on their hands to investigate a "kerfuffle."

A sip of tea, a biscuit, and a cat curled up on the lap are the best accompaniments for this lushly executed mystery series. Families, sensitive viewers, and younger teens who like mysteries that don't contain a lot of threat or heated intensity will enjoy this show the most.
