A Lot or a Little?
The parents' guide to what's in this TV show.
What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that The Pentaverate is a Mike Myers comedy about a secret organization that runs the world. The twist is that this particular secret organization is "nice". Myers returns to his Austin Powers-era style of comedy where he plays most of the characters in the series. A good amount of the comedy comes from sex jokes and body part humor (and a whole lot from characters' Canadian accents) but Myers also manages to find nuance in each character. Language includes "s--t" and "ass," and characters are occasionally seen drinking alcohol.

What's the Story?
The Pentaverate is an ancient organization that runs the world. Don't worry, they're "nice." But when Canadian reporter Ken Scarborough (Mike Myers, who also plays many of the other characters) attempts to track them down with the help of some conspiracy theorists, he finds himself in a whole lot of trouble.
Is It Any Good?
Mike Myers' popularity may have waned since the Austin Powers franchise, but his comedic chops are still intact. The Pentaverate feels like it's from another era of comedy and will probably strike a lot of viewers as out of touch, or overeager to seem relevant. But those with a soft spot for Myers should find it at least a little charming, as he creates a universe of characters each with its own subtle humor.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about secret societies. What is the Pentaverate? What is its function? How does it compare to other secret societies in pop culture or real life? Does it make a difference that they claim to be "nice?"
What current events or issues get brought up in The Pentaverate? How are they treated? Does the show seem to have an opinion or point of view?
Which of Myers' characters is your favorite? How does he distinguish the characters from one another? What, if anything, makes them funny?
