What's the Story?

THE STOLEN GIRL follows the Blix family and the kidnapping of their daughter. After flight attendant and busy mom Elisa (Denise Gough) is late picking up her daughter, Lucia, from school again, the girl pleads to have a playdate with her new friend. Elisa agrees and drops her off with new mom in town Rebecca (Holliday Grainger) for a sleepover. But when Lucia isn't returned home the next day, the Blix family pulls up to Rebecca's house only to find it completely empty. As detectives try to find Lucia, reporter Selma (Ambika Mod) is convinced that Elisa isn't the distraught mom she's made herself out to be.

This series is a solid entry into the mystery/abduction genre. The Stolen Girl's ambiguous and complex characters leave it unclear who to trust. The show has a lot of potential for surprising twists and turns that will pull viewers in. Parents will want to mind the language and violence, but it's suitable for teens.
