What's the Story?

Phoebe (Kira Kosarin) and Max (Jack Griffo) are back in THE THUNDERMANS: UNDERCOVER with a special mission! A league of villains is trying to take over the beach town of Secret Shore. To stop them, the Thundermans must go undercover. While trying to give their little sister, Chloe (Maya Le Clark), a taste of normal life—where no one knows she has superpowers—the twins decide to bring her along on their mission. Now they must navigate the world of crime-fighting, being responsible for taking care (and training!) Chloe, while protecting their family secret from her new friends.

Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say ( 1 ):
Kids say ( 2 ):

The same dynamics as the original show, but with a new zipcode. Watching THE THUNDERMANS: UNDERCOVER sometimes feels like seeing a show that tries to address previous criticisms, but ends up falling into the same traps. Yes, there's less bickering, yet it still dominates character interactions. While there's more diversity, it remains limited. At its core, it's still the same show about family and wishfulfilment that will make young kids laugh, and parents will roll their eyes.

Talk to Your Kids About ...

  • Families can talk about the trend of rebooting popular shows, as seen in The Thundermans: Undercover. Are you familiar with the original show from 2013? Why do you think companies decide to bring back old characters for new stories?

  • Phoebe and Max look after their younger sister Chloe. Do you or does anyone you know share a similar family structure?

  • The twins want Chloe to make friends that don't know she's a superhero. Why do you think that is? What are the advantages or disadvantages of others knowing their identity?
