What's the Story?

THE WONDERLAND MASSACRE & THE SECRET HISTORY OF HOLLYWOOD starts in 1981, with a gruesome quadruple murder on Wonderland Avenue in Los Angeles. The case, shrouded in drugs, deception, and corruption, eventually went cold. Fast forward to the 2020s, when journalist Michael Connelly revisits the dark details of this case with lead detectives. From the elusive porn star, the sole survivor of the murder in ICU, to the drug ties to actor Eddie Nash—Connelly follows each lead that led to a dead end in the original investigation. But when "missing" witness Scott Thorson comes forward almost 40 years later, the secrets reveal something bigger lurking in Hollywood.

This series takes a closer (sometimes nauseating) look into a cold case. The Wonderland Massacre & the Secret History of Hollywood is dark, gritty, and gruesome. Connelly dissects every detail of this case with a fine-tooth comb, which viewers will either get lost in or intrigued by. Those familiar with this story of Connelly's podcast and reporting will find this a gripping watch. The violence (some footage can be very gory or explicit), language, and sexual content make this suitable only for older viewers.
