What's the Story?

THIS WORLD CAN'T TEAR ME DOWN is an animated series set in Britain and based on the life of Italian cartoonist Zerocalcare, who voices himself in the show. Inexplicably, most of the characters are human but a few are animals. He and his friends are sardonic intellects that wrestle with the difficulties of life both big and small and episodes tackle everything from the immigration crisis to needing voice lessons.

Parents say : Not yet rated
Kids say ( 1 ):

An exceptional soundtrack immediately immerses viewers into the world of a group of young rebels. The This World Can't Tear Me Down crew are dry, glib, and wonderfully self-aware intellectuals making it through each day by commentating on the societal norms and expectations they hold in such contempt. With a style reminiscent of Family Guy, the show is a thought-provoking platform for viewers to critically analyze the world around them. The rapid pace and frenetic nature of the series can be overwhelming, though. In the pilot, for example, a character references Star Wars, the Titanic, and Jesus all within 20 seconds of dialogue. Overall, the series is a reflection on the complexities of the modern world done with of plenty of wit and a whole lot of quick-fire references.
