What's the Story?

The Argentinian series TIERRA INCÓGNITA is a horror mystery about a boy trying to solve the mystery of his missing parents. Eight years ago Eric Dalaras (Pedro Maurizi) and his sister, Uma (Mora Fitz), moved in with their overprotective grandparents after their mother and father mysteriously disappeared from the horror-themed amusement park they owned in Cabo Qwert. After seeing a hidden message on a viral internet video that was shot at the now abandoned park, Eric decides to sneak away and return to their former hometown in hopes of figuring out what happened to them. He soon realizes that there are dark forces at play. With the help of his sister, his childhood best friend Pablo (Thomas Lepera), his crush Lila (Azucena Zhou), and his Aunt Carmen (Carla Pandolfi), can Eric discover the truth?

Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say ( 1 ):
Kids say ( 1 ):

The fun adolescent-oriented series creates lots of entertaining suspense as the mysteries surrounding the disappearance of Eric and Uma's parents unfold. There isn't any blood or gore, but there are lots of strange-looking people and creepy locations that are introduced into the narrative, along with accompanying tension-filled music that creates lots of anxiety about what will happen next. There are also some quick but frightening moments designed to get viewers jumping out of their seats. Older teens may find the series too sanitized for their liking, while younger or more sensitive kids may find it too intense. But older tweens and young teens who enjoy mysteries and thrillers may find Tierra Incógnita worth checking out.

  • Families can talk about what makes a scary TV series. Does it have to feature blood and gore to work? What other devices can be used to create thrilling moments?

  • Eric and Uma use sneaky tactics to get away from their grandparents in order to look for their mom and dad. Is this appropriate? Do the ends justify the means?
