Tokyo Revengers
What's the Story?
TOKYO REVENGERS follows Takemichi Hanagaki (voiced in English by A.J. Beckles), an ordinary guy who finds out he can time travel. Using his newfound ability Takemichi hopes to alter the tragic fate of his love interest and friends. But to change the future he must get involved with a notorious bike gang in the past. Takemichi soon finds himself navigating the gritty world of gangs and gang dynamics while doing what he can to save his friends and loved ones.
Is It Any Good?
This anime blends elements of drama, gang conflicts, and time travel in a bizarre narrative. Tokyo Revengers falls into the "just okay" category -- the premise is intriguing but clashes with the execution of the time traveling elements and feels confusing and inconsistent. The anime offers enough moments of intensity, action, and over-the-top drama to keep some interest, but its appeal may be limited due to its narrative reminiscent of a soap opera drama.
