What's the Story?

Executive produced by Khloe Kardashian, TWISTED LOVE is a six-part documentary series that explores shocking crimes that were committed when love went wrong. From extramarital affairs to religious grandparents attempting to break up a young woman's relationship, each installment tells a disturbing story about what appears to be a devoted relationship, and how events lead to distrust, abuse, and murder. Rounding out the narratives are actor reenactments of events, and interviews with investigators, family members, and friends who share details and personal thoughts. Archive and crime scene photos, both real and recreated, are also featured.

Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say : Not yet rated
Kids say : Not yet rated

This sensational true crime series offers details about sinister plots and murders associated with people in supposed loving relationships. It also offers details about the individuals involved and what seemed to go wrong between them. But during interviews family and friends get quite emotional, and they mainly share personal opinions about those involved in, and impacted by, the crimes committed. The reenactments sometimes reinforce these perspectives, making it hard to discern fact from fiction. It's not the most ethically produced documentary series, but people who like these kinds of stories might find Twisted Love compelling.

Talk to Your Kids About ...

  • Families can talk about the reasons people watch true crime shows. Is it the stories about crimes committed against others that are compelling? Or the way these crimes are solved? Both?

  • Twisted Love features combinations of people sharing opinions, reenactments, and factual details. Should it still be considered a documentary series? Or is it something else?
