What's the Story?

WWE EVOLVE is a revival of the developmental TV show featuring up-and-coming wrestlers from the Evolve brand division performing in the ring. WWE creative team member Shawn Michaels has selected prominent new talent from the WWE performance and development systems to compete in single, paired, and group matches to showcase their skill sets. During each match, radio personality Peter Rosenberg offers play-by-play comments throughout each match, while WWE wrestler Robert Stone offers his insights and analysis. As part of the fun, former Evolve brand participants like Johnny Gargano and Cody Rhodes sit in the VIP sections during the matches and look on. There's a lot at stake for the newer wrestlers, as each is trying to impress and get promoted to the NXT brand, the next level of WWE professional wrestling development.

Is It Any Good?

The energy-filled series offers viewers the chance to watch the next generation of WWE stars perfecting their in-ring performances as part of the Evolve brand. WWE Evolve viewers get to watch as the wrestlers play up rivalries, act obnoxiously, and challenge each other in the ring using traditional moves and their own flair during pretaped matches. No, the performances aren't always as polished as what you would expect to see on WWE's NXT live matches, and certainly aren't as over-the-top as those featured on Raw and Smackdown. Nonetheless, wrestling fans will find WWE Evolve to be as entertaining as it is promotional.

  • How many wrestlers from WWE Evolve do you think will be promoted to the NXT brand? Is there anyone you think will go from NXT and be on the main rosters of WWE Raw and WWE Smackdown a few years from now?
