What's the Story?
YOLO: CRYSTAL FANTASY is an animated adult comedy that follows the surreal misadventures of best friends Rachel and Sarah. Rachel (Todor Manojlovic) loves to party, while Sarah (Sarah Bishop) likes to have fun and be socially accepted. Somehow they find themselves caught up in some weird situations. But even when they let each other down, they still manage to remain besties.
Is It Any Good?
The absurd, entertaining Australian-American series, which takes place in Australia, features lots of irreverent humor as the pair of friends navigate their family and social lives. Throughout it all, they interact with an array of strange creatures, as well as some unusual humans, all of which create humorous representations of Australian life. While this makes it unique, there are times when those unfamiliar with Australian culture and habitats may feel that they're missing something.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about adult animated comedies. What makes them popular? Is it the stories they tell? The strong content? The fantasies they create?
Yolo: Crystal Fantasy contains specific and subtle references to specific aspects of Australian life. How does it also appeal to broader, non-Australian audiences?
