What's the Story?

YOU ARE MS. SERVANT follows former assassin Yuki (voiced by Trina Nishimura) and high school first-year Hitoyoshi Yokoya (voiced by Abi Kumar) in their new life together. Hitoyoshi is surprised when Yuki suddenly appears at his door one day, asking for a job as a maid. Uncertain but sympathetic, he agrees, and the two of them start living together and learning what it means to live a "normal" life — except Yuki's past haunts her, and danger lurks around every corner!

Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say ( 1 ):
Kids say ( 1 ):

This character-driven anime with an absolutely absurd premise still somehow manages to have touching moments and important themes. You Are Ms. Servant isn't the best assassin-related anime out there. The setup is pretty absurd, and the pacing is really fast. But if you can look past the cringy elements (like a teen boy living out a maid fantasy with an older woman), you can find a good story about friendship and identity.

  • Yuki has a violent past but is trying to be "normal" now. How does she overcome the voices of her past telling her she'll never be more than a killer?

  • Characters experience feelings they don't understand. What are some positive ways to process new, confusing emotions?
